Medical Outreach Program in Nigeria

September 1st, 2017

A rural medical outreach program was carried out at remote Nwangele LGA, Nigeria. The outreach program, an initiative of Good Samaritan for Africa aimed to provide the severely understaffed and poorly resourced medical clinic in Nwangele LGA with volunteers, mostly fifth- and sixth-year medical students who are eager to make a difference in people’s lives. The villagers were aided with medical supplies and both students and patients gained from the medical outreach. But more global efforts are needed to educate communities on preventive healthcare and spread of diseases like HIV/AIDS.
